Vaccines – Round 2
Yesterday, our Members and some staff received the 2nd COVID-19 Vaccination (and we had some first rounds administered as well!). Members who attended got to take home a fun little goodie bag, pins saying “I’m vaccinated” and their completed vaccination cards! We are proud to continually put people first to ensure the safety of our Members and staff at Marsh’s Edge!
Pace Conner
On Wednesday, we welcomed a fan favorite back to Marsh’s Edge – Pace Conner! Pace is an incredibly talented guitarist and singer. He’s one of our favorite performers as his musical talents are off the charts and he’s got the ability to play nearly any request we have! Thanks for joining us, Pace! We can’t wait to have you back soon!
Travel Club
We’re off to another adventure with our Travel Club! On Friday visit the beautiful country of Israel! First, we watched a travel video about Jerusalem! Through this video, we were able to experience the sounds and sights of this beautiful city. Then we really connected with this beautiful area by tasting the treats we got from our SnackCrate box – all of the snacks were yummy!! We had several members who had visited Israel, and a team member who lived there for 13 years so it was a joy to hear their stories!
Art Studio
Our community is home to so many talented professional and amateur artists who love to create! They utilize our Art Studio quite often and enjoy having space to bring all of their creative visions to life. Lucky for us, we benefit from all of the incredible artwork that is displayed around our community – check out these pieces!
Valentine’s Day
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, our Members enjoyed a Sweetheart Dinner! Attendees were able to have a special photo taken at our photo booth before heading into dinner. The décor gave the perfect aesthetic for the evening with 100 balloons floating on the ceiling and red ambient lighting. While the Jekyll Island Big Band played all of our love song favorites as we danced the night away! Our dining team knocked it out of the park with this event (and even received a standing ovation!!) – the menu included a Baby Arugula Salad with Roasted Beets, Mandarin Oranges, Goat Cheese and, a citrus vinaigrette. This was followed by Blue Cheese Crusted Beef Tenderloin and Butter Poached Lobster, served with Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus. Of course, a Valentine’s Day celebration isn’t complete without some chocolate For dessert, our Members enjoyed a Soft Center Chocolate Cake served with Homemade Almond Buttermilk Ice Cream and Chocolate Covered Strawberries! What a beautiful celebration!
Mardi Gras
Last week we celebrated Mardi Gras at Marsh’s Edge! Everyone donned their beads and masks for a jazzy good time! Attendees to our evening of events enjoyed entertainment by Saxophonist Dexter Jones, and a menu fit for a Fat Tuesday Celebration! Our dining team prepared a menu fit for the French Quarter – An Appetizer Trio of Sweet Fried Oysters, Cornmeal Fried Okra, and Johnny Cakes with Red Pepper Remoulade. Our main entrée was Georgia White Shrimp Etouffee With Andouille Sausage and Yellow Rice. And of course, for dessert, we enjoyed Praline Cream Cheese King Cake, Flown in from New Orleans! The tables were decorated with the iconic bead trees you can see lined along St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans. The room was lit with classic Mardi Gras Colors or Purple, Green, and Yellow.
Craft Club
Even though it was quite chilly here today on St.Simons Island, we are ready for warmer spring weather!! Today we painted birdhouses for this month’s Craft Club! We had a great time and all of the birdhouses turned out so cute – we can’t wait to see what beautiful birds they bring out!
