Top 5 Events of 2023

As 2023 ends, it is the perfect time to look back and remember all the fabulous and fun events at Marsh’s Edge. Our team pushed the boundaries to create unique experiences for our Members. The dedicated Social and Wellness Directors created detailed, packed calendars that gave our Members plenty of adventures! From sensational Signature Experiences to hoppin’ happy hours to exciting excursions and so much more, this year was one for the record books, making it difficult to narrow down our top events.

Get ready to count down our top five events for this year:

5. Cars for a Cause

On Saturday, Marsh’s Edge hosted their 4th Annual Cars for a Cause Car Show! The community welcomed cars from our neighborhood and the local St. Simons area for a fun-filled day of showcasing cars. Marsh’s Edge welcomed guests from across St. Simons Island and the Brunswick community to join us in raising money for The Alzheimer’s Association! We had more than 30 cars enter our show and over 100 people in attendance! It was a beautiful St. Simons Island day! Attendees had perfect weather for this event and raised funds for the effort to End Alzheimer’s! The 5th Annual Show is on the calendar, for October 5th, 2024!

4. Biker Week at Marsh’s Edge

We were born to be WILD here at Marsh’s Edge! They hosted a week of Rock ‘n Roll, leather, and motorcycles for Biker Week Signature Experience! 🏍 Local bikers brought over their motorcycles and gave our Members rides, and now have a few ready to purchase their own after getting a taste of the speed! The main event was our Bike Ball, and we set up a costume contest to see who showed up looking the part! Members could head to the tattoo parlor to grab their favorite cocktail and get a tasteful temporary tattoo! After getting tattooed, their leather, and sunglasses, they all felt ready to read to the ball! The incredible chef prepared a delicious menu! First course: Beef & Black bean Tacos Second course: Surprise Sweet Salad Third course: Bison Burger with Sweet Potato Fries Dessert: Indian Fry Bread with a Wojabi Sauce & Jalapeño Ice Cream.

3. Havana Nights

Marsh’s Edge boarded a trip to the Port of Havana for a week of Havana Nights! The week started with one of the best things about Cuban culture: the rum! Javier taught Members how the rum industry started in Cuba and how different ingredients can change the whole taste of the rum! Later in the week, Chef Jayson had a Cuban cooking class for Members to learn how to make Cuban traditional rice pudding! To conclude the week, Members wore their best Havana attire for an Evening with Havana Nights! Tropical plants, island music, and much joy surrounded Members to make the night one to remember! Chef Jayson prepared a vibrant three-course Cuban-style meal! He prepared fried plantains with honey goat cheese, mojo-marinated pork with rice and beans, and a Cuban rice pudding over key lime pie with a key lime glaze.

2. Murder Mystery Dinner

“Professor Plum with the candlestick in the library!” Members took a chance at a mystery brewing at Marsh’s Edge. They walked into their formal dining room to find it transformed into a pirate ship for their Mateys Murder Mystery Dinner! Each Member had a role to play throughout this mystery dinner. Chef Jayson created a delicious meal with Lobster Pumpkin Bisque, Beef Wellington, and Bread Pudding.

1. Chef’s Table

“Cooking is like painting or writing a song. Just as there are only so many notes or colors, there are only so many flavors—it’s how you combine them that sets you apart.” – Wolfgang Puck Every month, Chef Jayson creates a perfectly paired five-course menu for Members. An example of a menu:

  • Shrimp Bisque with Tarragon
  • Pear and Walnut Salad
  • Braised beef short ribs with Pumpkin Puree and Mushroom Ragout
  • Candied Bacon Ice Cream!

And just like that, this year is ending, and we are ready to start another fantastic year full of fabulous events. We can’t wait to see what this year holds and how it will surpass this year’s events!
